RUN OK

Lake Arcadia, OK

Mother Road Run OK 100
Saturday June 12th
7AM
Lake Arcadia Main entrance.

Well, it's happening!

Why? Because Arnold Begay is running the Badwater 135 and I  (Kathy Bratton) am crewing and pacing him. Arnold said we needed a hot 100 for training and suggested we run most of the original route of the Mother Road 100 series here in the state of Oklahoma. I missed this section of the series because I wasn't running 100's then. But I paced  Ken Childress and was instantly smitten with the idea of running 100's so I jumped at the opportunity to run this route. We decided that others might like to come along on our little adventure and play and so I created this event.

What is this event? The Mother Road Run OK 100 is a point to point 100 mile run traversing a part of Oklahoma on the Historic Route 66 Hiway. Running through many small towns and experiencing the charm that each has to offer and ending up at RunnersWorld Tulsa, 3920 S Peoria.

How does this work? We shall meet and start at the main entrance of lake Arcadia. The start time will be 7AM. We will text our name and race number to our timers at the start and then we will text the same information to the timers when you are finished. They will time us remotely.

This will be a fully self supported run and it is strongly suggested that you have a crew to take care of you on your journey. The route will be precarious in places and you will be running on much of the route with traffic and very little shoulder. You will be solely responsible for your food, drink and safety! None of these things will be provided for you on this run.

What do I get? You get to run a 100, be timed and upon completion you will receive your really awesome Run OK buckle! There are no shirts (although if it is really important to you I can make and sell you one) and no awards other than your finishers buckle.

Can we have pacers? I don't care! There are no limits to who runs with you and when.

Is there a cut off time? Sure. I'ma give you 40 hours. Why 40 hours? Is the course that hard? No, it's not so much that the course is hard, it's more for the safety of you all. If you get tired, I would rather have you take some breaks and rest than put yourselves in any more danger with the traffic than what we will already experience.
